The book of James focuses on two practical disciplines: (1) temptation which compels the believer to turn to God’s resources, and (2) providence which educates Christ’s followers in His methods for teaching and blessing them. It is possible, says Simpson, “to learn to find in God the secret of blessing and victory under all conditions and circumstances”.
